Today when I entered the yoga studio where I participate in a workstudy, I was informed that there was no Internet at all and the elevator was not working! While one of the employees there looked stressed and fretful, I tried to mitigate her anxiety by letting her know it wasn't that bad. Then it struck me - a thought appeared in my head reminding me it must be that time again...mercury retrograde. Sure enough I logged onto Dian Bustillo's Daily Moonscope (http://dianbustillo.net/working.php) to see the mercury retrograde began Many 26, 2008.
Having studied these retrogrades in the past and see the trends, I am not surprised to see internet down, telephone lines not working, delayed text messages. Mercury is the planet of communication, travel, and technology. When Mercury goes into retrograde, it appears to be going backwards, and that is what happens often in the areas that Mercury rules...instead of things pertaining to communication go smooth as usual, we will notice some bumps, delays, and possible standstill moments in some areas of of our lives.
What I have learned from the Mercury Retrogrades are the following:
1) PATIENCE!!! When phones start messing up, email takes longer to load, etc etc...instead of getting worked up and frustrated, I try to remind myself to be patient and embrace the reality of the present. To accept the present can be challenging, but it can also be very easy. To accept the present scenario, we are able to sometimes use a little more creativity in how we get along day to day. If email is not working, perhaps being present will encourage us to walk away from the computer or to slip the blackberry back into our pocket and look up and SEE a familiar face, a beautiful tree, and sunny sky...something that brings us right back into our present.
2) Go With The Flow! OK I will admit to having a few control issues and wanting to control everything around me, so sometimes this time is a good time to sit back, remove our control, and be confident that what is right is happening and that all will work out to be okay. Go with the flow instead and enjoy the ride.
3)Reflection! This is a good time to reflect on what has worked in the past, what has been achieved in the past, and how we want to plan for future success and achievements in the future.
4) Edit and Re-Edit! You may find yourself having to repeat or redo things during this time period. So you as might as well put more effort into it the second time. If you are writing a story and your computer crashes, have faith that the second time you write this story it will have something additional that it did not have the first time.
Happy Living!
